Post-Adoption Support Programs

California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Adoption Services Bureau and Aspiranet Foster and Adoption Agency partnered to create the REACH Program.  Its purpose is to support and enrich the lives of adopted children and their families, as well as others who have been touched by adoption.  REACH services are available at no cost to adoptive families who have adopted from, or reside in, Madera, Mariposa, Mono, or San Benito Counties.

While all families experience triumphs and challenges as they grow and change, adoptive families tend to encounter unique challenges. REACH offers the following services to support adoptive parents, adolescents and children:

  • Education, referral and advocacy services to help parents locate and access services

  • Crisis counseling, support counseling, and case management services

  • Adoption support and parent education groups (child care provided in some locations)

  • Community education, presentations, and workshops on adoption issues

  • An adoption lending library

  • Quarterly newsletters

  • The Aspiranet REACH website for Counties of Madera, Mariposa, Mono, and San Benito
